Going commando hits a high note.
Powder Her Face
What: Counter today’s sticky-sweet romance with a sexually charged opera based on a 1960s British scandal involving Polaroids, a duchess, and a pearl necklace.
Why: A chorus of 25 men in the buff with enough presence they don’t even have to sing.
When: Fri., 7:30 p.m.; Sun., 1:30 p.m. (Also Feb. 21 & 23).
Where: BAM, 30 Lafayette Ave., b/t Ashland Pl. & Saint Felix St., Fort Greene. Tickets ($25-$235) at bam.org (use promo code 19286 at checkout for 20 percent off).
What: Settle into a cushy couch at the new Midtown beer hall with sixteen locally focused brews and tipsy takes on old-school favorites (vanilla cream soda with vodka, rum and root beer float).
Why: Soak it all up with serious comfort fare, including Bloody Mary bacon duck fat fries, French toast grilled cheese with a maple drizzle, and peanut butter barbecue ribs topped with salt and vinegar chips.
When: Daily, 4 p.m.-2 a.m.
Where: 356 W. 58th St., b/t Eighth & Ninth Aves. (212-554-6217).
The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog
What: Named for a notorious 19th-century British gang, the two-story pub/cocktail lounge hybrid slings Pop-Inns (an old-school concoction of ale spiked with liqueur); punch bowls flavored with sherbets and teas; and snacks like oysters au gratin, Scotch eggs, and lamb chop lollipops.
Why: The historically accurate cocktail menu lists cobblers, flips, possets, sours, daisies, juleps, smashes, and bishops. Take that, vodka soda.
When: Mon.-Wed., 5 p.m.-2 a.m.; Thurs.-Sat., 5 p.m.-3 a.m.
Where: 30 Water St., at Broad St. (646-422-7906).
What: Let the pros give you a blowout ($40 with a shampoo and scalp massage included) or quick dry shampoo refresh ($30) better than any of your baby powder attempts.
Why: Need to get it out of your face? Just $20 lands you a fancy braid or snazzy updo.
When: Opens today. Mon.-Wed., 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; Thurs.-Fri., 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sat., 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: 32 W. 21st St., b/t Fifth & Sixth Aves. To book an appointment, go to secure-booker.com.
Name a Roach
What: Instead of settling for last-minute drugstore chocolates or — gasp — carnations, christen one of the Bronx Zoo’s Madagascar hissing roaches with your beloved’s moniker.
Why: As anyone who’s ever lived in an NYC apartment can attest, the creepy crawlers are resilient, resourceful, and everlasting — just like your love. (And the $10 donation supports wildlife conservation.)
Where: At bronxzoo.com.
Touching the Void
What: Artist/designer Liz Collins takes over the Textile Arts Center, forming a fabric cave with knit interpretations of bodily shapes.
Why: Wear her art on your sleeve. Shop her collection of limited-edition, ready-to-wear sweaters right in the space.
When: Fri.-Mar. 15. Opening reception, Fri., 6-8 p.m.
Where: 26 W. 8th St., b/t Fifth Ave. & MacDougal St. (646-225-6554).
