When an outre urge hits at work, it’s best to keep your cool (HR probably doesn’t appreciate furry costumes). But at home?
Get weird with Starling Brood, a new line of eccentric housewares.
Prior to launch, founder/designer Mihaeko (no last name; you see where this is going) worked as Björk’s official tour sculptor, creating jumbo musical instrument installations deemed eccentric enough to share the stage with the singer.
Jump off the deep end with a stuffed woolen lap cat (recommended for those with dander allergies) or snuggle up to an embroidered linen pillow. Ceramic decorative mushrooms add forest-floor whimsy to any shelf, while stark-white tea cups and bowls calm as you sip.
All products, including knit cowl scarves and rosewood tea trays, are made by hand in Brooklyn.
Available at starlingbrood.com, $15-$90.
