You probably don’t know Nick Gray.
Here’s why you should: a) He looks great in a suit and b) he’s the founder of Hack the Met, the best damn museum tour money can’t buy.
Gray is not affiliated or endorsed by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, nor does he have a Ph.D. in art history. He is, however, abnormally gifted in the social arts (humor, making friends, being interesting).
Tours happen Friday and Saturday nights, and the goal is to explore until the lights go off. Generally, Gray sticks to four topics: facts, opinions thinly veiled in a factual tone, sweet-talking guards, and encouraging you to rethink (and subsequently revisit) the “best museum in the world.”
We did it but refuse to ruin the best bits.
Space is limited, and we get the impression Gray entertains to be entertained. Include an interesting fact or two about yourself when you apply and wear something nice.
You’ll be glad you Met.
