In years past, cat lady status required 30 fur balls and a Whiskas-only pantry. These days all you need is one and an Internet connection.

In 2010, the Saudi Arabia-born, Dubai-educated graphic artist quit her job, moved to Brooklyn, and adopted a kitten named Tokyo. Rather than consider that a pickle, she learned to make them — along with jellies, extracts, and condiments. Countless batches later, preserves are officially her jam.

Spread pear saffron on biscuits with blue cheese or plop strawberry balsamic atop ice cream. Basil raspberry and Earl Grey peach class up toast, while jalapeno jelly mushed with cream cheese creates an eye-opening bagel boost. Also worth taste-test driving: the almond butter and spicy Guinness mustard.

We’re smitten with the labels and embossed paper lids (Alsenan holds an MFA in design). Batches are made to order; email to find out what’s fresh or request specific flavors.
