OK, the bad news first. Big rings are in. The good news: We’re not talking carats or anything having to do with the three C’s (let’s hear a big whew in unison).

The latest eye-catching trinkets cropping up on fingers, Colette Malouf’s brightly-colored rings, are objects better suited to the MoMA design store than Harry Winston. (Though the prima donnas seem to like them too.) Made of flame sculpted glass, murrini and metallic leaf, the candy-inspired rings incorporate swirls, quadrants, sparkles and — quite simply — are the perfect complement to the all-black wardrobe so many can’t shake.

So for all of you who like to gesticulate madly with your hands, now you can really make a statement. And you don’t even have to be engaged.
