No Longer a Jungle Out There

There’s so much to love about Urban Outfitters.

That luscious seventies hipster look of undone chic.
The bargain prices.
The ever-changing selection of merch.

And yet there are so many things to disturb the intrepid shopper.

The queue at the checkout.
The bag-check policy.
The congestion, the chatty, bratty clientele.
The hideous light in the dressing room.
The shop’s refusal to organize clothing by size. (Size 6, oh where can you be?)

So we when we noticed that Urban Outfitters had finally launched a Website, we were pretty stoked.

And it’s a pretty slamming site to boot. Sitting in the peace and quiet at your trusty laptop or office computer (whoa, are you shopping on the boss’s time?), you can navigate the store, play your own selection of music, and even send gift certificates to friends.

The women’s section features all the usuals: Aviator sunglasses ($12.50), a Taos cowboy hat ($42), tie-dyed tanks ($24), and bias-cut blouses($48). For men, there’re cargo pants ($68), printed logo tees ($24), and muscle tanks ($10). Think fashion’s a bore? Apartment accessories include a CD-ROM of old Atari games like Asteroids and Breakout ($26), or our favorite, the Playboy shower curtain ($40) composed of mini vintage Playboy covers. Talk about killin’ time in the shower.

Ain’t e-commerce grand?
