You got a hotel.
You wanted a bar.
You got a bar.
Then (sheesh, are you high-maintenance or what?) you wanted to eat. You wanted food, a restaurant. You even started asking for room service…
So the folks delivered. Tonight Thom’s opens in SoHo’s latest darling hotel, 60 Thompson. A joint project between the creators of Indochine, BondSt, and Republic, the 3,400-square-foot spot is designed by Thomas O’Brien of Aero Studios and works an overall Asian theme (you know the gig: bamboo and cool slate tiles, gold wallpaper…). The food? Oh, the food! Selections include soft-shell crab tempura; a sweet-potato dumpling with porcini and miso broth; steamed skate with Granny Smith apples, dashi, and fingerling potatoes; and loads of light summer-ish fruit dishes.
(Fruit-cocktail appetizer for 8 bucks! Yee haw!)
