Run to Rouge

A new kind of makeup salon

The last time you puckered up for the pros, they mistook your gala for a Barnum & Bailey audition — and loaded you with products more appropriate for the bearded lady.

Celebrity makeup artist Rebecca Perkins and actress Stephanie March — the duo behind a new kind of makeup salon, called Rouge — have a different set of tricks up their sleeves.

While working on the set of Law & Order: SVU, the pals lamented the city’s dearth of affordable, no-pressure professional makeup services.

Their six-seat Soho studio is designed to deck you out for occasions big (dream-job interview) and small (first date) in 45 minutes max.

Pop in during early weekday hours or snag an appointment for after work (it’s open till 8 p.m.) with Perkins or a member of her talented team. Choose from a menu of looks: You … Only Better gently enhances while staying natural; Bold Choice (smoky eye, bright lip, or full brow) fits your face with the season’s trends; Total Polish means red carpet ready. The experts do their thing while you recline in a comfy leather chair.

Simple touch-ups, waxing (lip, chin, brow), lash extensions, and tattoo cover-ups are also available.

They’re not clowning around.

Rouge New York, 130 Thompson Street, between Prince and Houston Streets (212-388-1717 or rougeny.com), $10-$75. House calls, $125 per hour (two-hour minimum).
