An NYC designer keeps it in the family

jessie dib!

family dynamics
n. The forces within a family that produce certain behaviors; the way in which family members live and relate with one another.

Giving the term new meaning: Jessie Dib, the Venezuelan-born, NYC-based designer behind a new line of modern accessories.

The collection of minimalist yet bold necklaces is a true labor of love. Dib starts by sketching her vision. She, her father, and brother then craft each piece from various materials, such as acrylic, silver, copper, bronze, brass, and wood, hammering all by hand. Mom rounds out the family affair by taking care of business.

The result (besides an impressive display of family cooperation): 3-D printed pieces of geometric shapes and mixed materials. Our favorites are the Laura, a quirky take on a bib necklace, with asymmetrical sheer and copper plates, and the Michu, strung with overlapping acrylic rectangles in alternating light green, clear, and black.

No two pieces are alike, and each one is made to order. Even better? Jessie is happy to create custom numbers.

The real definition of awesome.
