Rescue efforts aren’t one organization deals.

They are not one-ladder troupes.

They are multi faceted and multi species.

As many of you are aware, the past week’s tragedy has taken a toll not only on human beings, but on the canine population.

So when we see the little pug on Perry Street wearing an American flag on his back, we can’t help thinking; Oh, the rescue dogs, and animals abandoned in the disaster—help them too!

Show your support. Adopt an abandoned pet or donate food or money to the ASPCA or the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. And while you’re at it, help the economy! Ella Dish, designer of canine couture, is selling American-flag dog collars and leashes. Sixty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.

They don’t call it puppy love for nothing.
