Shop Wardrobe Essentials from AYR

A line to live in

You’re the proud owner of a sick sequin blazer and a killer ball gown/crop top set.

When it comes to basics, however, your closet’s running on empty.

Solve your wardrobe woes with chic essentials from NYC-based brand AYR, a collection just launched by a team with serious label cred (Andy Dunn, Bonobos; Maggie Winter, J.Crew; Jacqueline Cameron, Calvin Klein, Madewell).

Start with flawlessly fitting denim in a range of cuts (skinny, micro flare, cigarette) and washes (broken-in blue, vintage powder blue, coated black, almost white). Top the ensemble with a flattering knit: The Illusion (navy, black, cream) hugs the torso in all the right places. The Classic (melon, heather gray, charcoal, snow), woven with baby alpaca and fine merino, is soft enough to sleep in. Our favorite, the ribbed Wildcard (heather gray, white), strikes just the right balance between cozy and cropped.

When temperatures rise, pair linen trouser shorts with long, clean-cut blazers for a ’50s schoolboy look. Throw the crisp cotton tunic over pants at the office; lose the pants and you’ve got yourself a sexy cover-up.

The Easy Shirt lives up to its name — a weightless cotton number with colorful designs by Brooklyn artist Martin Davis. It’s the first of many local collabs to come.

Available at ayr.com, $50-$485.
