Dylan's Candy Bar

Sugar smackers? Welcome home.

Dylan’s Candy Bar, the candy store to end all candy stores, opens tomorrow. Created by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph) and Jeff Rubin, creator of FAO Schwartz, the store makes Willy Wonka and his Chocolate Factory look like chump change.

Spanning two floors, the shop peddles every conceivable—and inconceivable—sweet: twelve flavors of Gummi Bears, gingerbread houses almost as big as a studio apartment (w/alcove), exotic licorices, Belgian truffles…you get the picture.

But wait: There’s more: a caf?, a bakery, an ice-cream parlor with 300 flavors and 40 yogurt flavors, an art gallery, a candy arts-and-crafts studio, and a fashion boutique with candy-themed T-shirts, dresses, candles, jewelry, and handbags.

Lest you believe the early bird catches the candy worm…Dylan plans to open shop at 7 a.m. (You’ll have to wait till 8 a.m. for now, sigh.) There’s a way to start your day.
