You know how we feel about new restaurants opening downtown.
Especially when we already know the steak frites and the mussels are killer. Today Les Halles Downtown opens. Talk about a no-brainer.
The folks behind the perennially packed and terminally cool Brasserie Les Halles on Park Avenue South are doing their bit to revitalize downtown New York by opening their latest outpost in the financial district. The resto serves seven days a week from noon to midnight, a bonus for anyone who’s ever tried to eat south of Chambers Street after hours. (Wall Streeters, rejoice!) If you’re lucky, that perfect steak frites will be fired up by chef Anthony Bourdain, the author of A Cook’s Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal, and the classic Kitchen Confidential.
They modeled the spot after an old French market… which should make the brokers in the ‘hood feel perfectly at home.
Les Halles Downtown, 15 John Street, between Nassau Street and Broadway (212-285-8585).
