The idea is too good: A jeweled strap can be suggestive and functional.

Plus, some beads are just too pretty to keep to yourself.

At least, that’s what Kammi Reiss, an Elle Decor photo editor-turned-handbag designer, is hoping. Reiss has decorated several elegantly shaped purses with beaded straps that can be removed and worn as jewelry. The onyx, citrine, turquoise, garnet, and aqua crystal beads make such great necklaces, bracelets, and anklets that she sells them separately.

The one thing that you probably shouldn’t do is sit on the bags. Or if you must, keep it to yourself, okay?
