Uh oh. Brit-trend alert.

On a recent trip across the pond, we noted hip Londoners wearing white canvas “trainers” that looked suspiciously like all-American Keds — only with handwritten scribbles all over them.

Flashback to the sixth grade: bored to tears in class, and writing the initials of your B.F.F., your 30-second crush, and the answers to your third-period French test on your Keds. After a while, the scribbles start piling up. (Admit it: You bumped off more than a couple B.F.F.s in your day.) Your Keds become a living record of your social life.

Well, the nostalgia-chic trend is back, courtesy of some designers so hip we can’t even pronounce their names.

The hell with them. You’ve seen what you can do with ballet slippers. Get out your Magic Markers, a pair of Keds, and get to work.
