Changing of the Garde

So many clothes. So little space. Where to fit 43 pair of little black shoes in your shoebox of an apartment?

One fashion bigwig (of course, can’t mention her name) keeps more than 100 pair of Jimmy Choos stashed at Ellen Hopfinger’s Garde Robe, a veritable mini storage for clothing junkies. Another media personality — well, suffice it to say, that’s where his suspenders reside.

So stash this under “random New York services you didn’t know existed.” For a mere 225 bucks a month, Hopfinger will store whatever you ask her to in a sprawling TriBeCa loft (which, mind you, is a nicer pad than most of us could dream of living in). She photographs each item and creates an album. (Is that Halston photogenic, or what?) Or use her service virtually: She uploads pics onto her Website. When you’re in a pinch, you can rifle through your portfolio, or ask Ellen. She’ll dress you from head to toe.

And, if traveling light is not your forte, she’s also a packing fairy godmother. Forgot something? Call Ellen: Local orders arrive in 90 minutes or less. Pants can be flown via FedEx to Paris.

Is there anything she can’t do? Cook. As far as she’s concerned, ovens are a lame place to store shoes.
