Heads up foodies: Another new restaurant opens tonight. And we almost decided not to tell you.

Full disclosure: A member of DailyCandy is involved. She invested.

Then we started receiving a flurry of e-mails from subscribers, giving us the heads up on this new cool spot opening. (Thank you Eileen Robert, Kim Vernon and several others.)

So, after a stint at the gym, we poked our heads in last night and saw…

Indeed it looked pretty darn neat.

So here goes: Village officially opens today. It’s a team project between Stephen Lyle (formerly the top toque of Odeon and The Independent) and Hafid, longtime (and legendary) Odeon maitre d’. The twosome seem to have poached every waitress, hostess, bartender, and busboy from their former digs as well as a few from Balthazar, Pastis and so on. (You’ll recognize the faces.) We include a menu for your perusal. (Get out your reading glasses folks!)

Investor or not… Given the buzz we saw last night, it doesn’t look like any member of the candy team will be scoring that sweet corner table anytime soon.
