Maybe you’ve heard. Rick Marin’s written a memoir, Cad: Confessions of a Toxic Bachelor. It hits stores today.

Perfect. Right in time for Valentine’s Day, as we sit here scratching our heads over what goes on inside the mind of the average smart, successful guy.

Yet for all its macho posturing, the book is pretty darn sweet. Marin may have intended it as a heartbreaking work of staggering chauvinism, but he ended up with a valentine to his father and the woman who became his fiancee.

In other words, he tried to write Cad, but instead he wrote Mensch.
