As is our custom here at DailyCandy, the week between Christmas and New Year’s will be dedicated to the greatest hits of 2003. Because we know your tired brain can’t handle any new info before January. (It has nothing to do with our wanting a week off.)
Have a great holiday, and thank you for being such smart, opinionated, and excellent readers.
We all know the Internet is the workplace’s biggest time waster.
But waste is a relative term. Consider this morning: You began with CNN, which rendered everything you’d read in the morning paper obsolete. After checking your ever accurate horoscope, you moved on to your daily dose of gossip, just to make absolutely sure that Ashton and Demi are really, truly in love.
Shouldn’t you be choosing more wisely? Animation site Homestarrunner.com gives procrastination a good name. Atlanta-based brothers Mike and Matt Chapman have dreamed up an endlessly entertaining cast of characters, which features the endearingly garrulous Homestar Runner and his entourage of wacky cohorts, among them the Poopsmith, Strong Bad, and the King of Town. Sounds like kids’ stuff, but look again: One click on “First Time Here” and you’re hooked. Time flies and boredom slips through your fingers as you peruse the various shorts, games, and humor bits.
It may not get you any closer to that promotion.
But clock-watching just got much more animated.
