Hunger Strike

Evil carbs. Mad cows. Good fats. Bad fats. Eating has become such a minefield you’re actually considering giving it up altogether.

What if skipping a meal could actually make a difference in someplace other than your thighs? (Which it never really does anyway.) City Harvest is sponsoring its second annual Skip Lunch Fight Hunger campaign to help feed New York City children who don’t have enough to eat. By giving up your morning latte (you know you’ve been wondering why you pay that much for it in the first place), a midday wrap, or a leisurely prix fixe lunch, you can use the money you would have spent to feed our city’s kids.

Sign yourself up or, if you’re feeling ambitious, become a team captain. Send this e-mail around your office. City Harvest will send you a special bag that you and your co-workers can fill with the money you would’ve spent on your daily carb-free concoctions.

Which, quite frankly, you weren’t really looking forward to anyway.

Skip Lunch Fight Hunger takes place on May 12. For more information or to sign up, go to cityharvest.org.
