Saturday night. The room fills with cool blue light. Everywhere you look there’s a model in a to-die-for outfit, and you’re busting out the AmEx left and right.
The latest pretentious nightspot?
Nope. Just another evening spent feeding that e-shopping addiction in the glow of your iMac. Who needs snotty bouncers and 30-dollar cosmojitos when vintage Dior is just a click away?
Le Train Bleu will do nothing to break such habits. Named after the 1924 Ballets Russes production (story by Cocteau, costumes by Chanel, backdrop by Picasso), the site mimics the atmosphere of the French Riviera at the time. It even features the work of photographers, illustrators, and animators.
The clothes are decidedly dance-inspired: Anyone who drooled over the skinny tunics and legwarmers in Center Stage or Flashdance (oh, admit it) will dig the merch, from a huge selection of cargoes to an adorable cropped wrap sweater. It’s the perfect way to look ridiculously sexy even on comfy days.
If you ever leave the house, that is.
