Who doesn’t love eBay? You get to unload your crap for cash. A pretty ingenious concept.

Except for the part where you have to photograph the stuff, create a catchy promotional Web page, manage the auction, pack everything up, wait in line at the post office, and ship it to some mysterious destination.

There’s just gotta be a better way to make a buck.

Actually, there’s just a better way to eBay: DropShop. You give them merch worth at least $50. They do everything else and send you a check within a few weeks. The first store of its kind to do this on the East Coast, DropShop is based in Greenwich, Connecticut, but will arrange pickups in Manhattan. It’s typically faster and more lucrative than selling on consignment. And since eBay sells much more than last season’s Prada, this is your chance to get rid of the vintage cameras and the Fiestaware gathering dust under your sofa. (Charity chairs, just imagine the fundraising possibilities.)
