Out, Damn Spot!

Soap from Pigalle

While it’s no great feat to find a $10 bar of soap, it is a coup to discover one that actually does more than look pretty lying there on your bathroom sink.

Do like the artists do. (You are, after all, dining in their Chelsea haunts). Pigalle, the San Francisco-based line of nifty artist supplies, makes a soap created explicitly to strip all the crud off an artist’s mitts. And it smells delicious, to boot.

While it’s meant to remove paint, plaster and other doggedly unwashable substances, we note: The stuff does wonders for those days in New York that leave you with that less-than-fresh feeling.

Consider it designer turpentine. Go ahead, paint the town whatever color you choose.
