There are chocolate lovers, and then there are chocolate lovers.
Chocolate lovers (ho-hum) are appreciative. Chocolate lovers (say it with a French accent) are infatuated! Crazed! Head over heels for the delightful, scrumptious, flavorsome, oh-so-utterly-irresistible-take-me-home-now morsels of divinity!
They’re also inclined to get carried away.
Especially when they’re getting carried to Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven, the newly minted 8,000-square-foot cocoa sanctuary in West SoHo. The cocoa pod-shaped cafe (and chocolatier) is just the place to indulge in your favorite ganache and specialty hot chocolate. Walls of windows look onto a panorama of vintage and state-of-the-art chocolate machinery, which manufacture Jacques’s delectables on the premises.
Taste truffles under the crystal chandeliers, sip espresso at the hand-carved wooden coffee bar, collect hand-crafted bonbons for the ride home. It’s very inviting. It’s very decadent. It’s very Louis XV.
Which might not be for everyone.
Because there are chocolate shops. And then there is Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven.
