Fully Developed

3.1 Phillip Lim

Last fall you were poppin’ collars. This summer, you channeled your inner boho. You? A fashion chameleon? Please. Fashion sociopath is more like it. (Sorry. The truth hurts.)

The wind is picking up, and you’re moving on. Where to? Sienna? Edie? It would be cruel to ask you to choose.

Unless you’ve discovered 3.1 Phillip Lim, a new line of clothing that mixes your favorite styles of the past few seasons — and filters out those you’d rather forget. (R.I.P., poncho.)

You probably already know Lim: He was the co-founder and creative director of Development, the label that’s been at the top of your must-get list for years. This time around Lim is pairing feminine tops with masculine pants (that should settle both the tailored and the draped sides of your brain) and designing standout pieces like beautifully fitted sweaters, short vests, wide-leg and truncated slacks, and fitted blazers with puff sleeves.

The trench coat with oversize collar and buttons is at once film noir and Roman Holiday. It will shield you from the cold while ensuring your cool level remains set to high.

Something those stupid Uggs could never quite do.

Available at Shop, 105 Stanton Street, at Ludlow Street (212-375-0304); Dernier Cri, 869 Washington Street, between West 13th and West 14th Streets (212-242-6061). To see styles, go to 31philliplim.com.
