Little Blouse on the Prairie

Dear Grandma Bea,

Ma and Pa have been working hard to help us adjust to life out in the West. Yesterday, we woke up when it was still dark and ate bread and molasses before getting in the wagon for a trip to town.

Ma brought furs and jams to trade for flour, oil, paper, and pretty dresses from Secrets of Charm. Good thing, because we wanted the whole darn collection! Jersey frocks with Midwestern prints, cashmere scarves with mountain scenes — we’re almost excited for the cold winter ahead.

Sis got the Indian-pattern Holly dress for the barn dance. Yours truly scored the floral button-down. (Wouldn’t a matching sash for the horse be nice?!)

Today, we galloped through the prairie, whooping and hollering, our new dresses fanning out behind us. Pa said we sure are a sight and Montana better watch out!

Yeah, we’re thinking this is a mighty good fit for us.
