Down on the Corner

Issy Salomon Jewelry

You’ve watched Reno 911 enough times to know that street-corner wheelings and dealings have a tendency to be shady.

But Issy Salomon’s new line of over-the-top necklaces may change your view on the matter.

Salomon sells his huge, colorful, one-of-a-kind creations on the street, but there’s nothing suspicious about these characters. Lucite stones are the stars of the collection — making appearances on gold-filled chains and leather-wrapped links.

Put down the faux-lex and pick up a giant white heart pendant hung on tortoise-shell links. Turn a blind eye toward the baby-pool-with-mini-turtles and opt for an oversize necklace of amethyst and chain links wrapped in black leather.

And don’t sell Mom’s TV for your next fashion fix: If you don’t have the cash for a big purchase, you can still pick up costume jewelry for just a few Jacksons.

Now that’s what we call street smarts.

Available on the corner of Broadway and Spring Street, Friday-Monday, 2-8 p.m. Trunk show tonight, 5-8 p.m., at Shop, 105 Stanton Street, at Ludlow Street (212-375-0304).
