What:
Purchase one case of H20 and provide clean water to 24 people for more than fifteen years.
Why: The amount of water a person in the developing world uses all day to wash, cook, or drink is equal to one toilet flush.
When: As often as you can. One hundred percent of the money goes to build freshwater wells in Africa.

RECYCLE
Old Electronics
What:
You’ve got your Wii, your Pearl, and your new plasma. Time to recycle old computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, TVs, and cell phones.
Why: Electronics account for 70 percent of the toxins found in landfills.
When: Sun., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Rain or shine.

Blood or Platelets
What: All types, all the time.
Why: Many cancer patients depend on transfusions to gain strength, fight infection, and survive.
When: When you’ve got an hour or two to spare.

CLOTHE
Weatherproof-Coat-the-Rink-Skate-a-Thon

What: Gather your old coats; grab some free skates. Weatherproof will match every jacket donated to New York Cares.
Why: Coats are distributed to more than 300 nonprofit organizations serving the homeless.
When: Tues., 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Pond at Bryant Park, 25 W. 42nd St., b/t Fifth & Sixth Aves.

CARE
Fresh Air Fund Sandwich
What:
A percentage of profits from the new barbecue flank steak — designed during ’Wichcraft’s FAF summer internship program — will go to the nonprofit.
Why: The agency provides free summer vacations to kids from NYC’s toughest hoods.
When: When heart and hunger pangs set in.
Where: At all ’Wichcraft locations, including 555 Fifth Ave., at 46th St.; 60 E. 8th St., at Broadway; 224 12th Ave., at 27th St.
