Goodnight, Moonching

Weather got your goat?

Baaa, what a drag. Cheer up by trading your winter wool for a little cashmere that goes a long way.

Sun Moon Lake’s bespoke, recycled cashmere blankets are beautifully crafted, ecosavvy, and lightweight enough to save you from feeling gypped out of spring.

Designer Moonching Wu salvages good bits of cashmere from moth-bitten sweaters at local thrift shops. Her preppy-striped throws come in two sizes, in varying shades like purple (plum, lavender, lilac), blue (aqua, navy, teal), or gray (black, heather, white) — or whatever strikes her fancy. Each strip is craftily stitched together with thread of contrasting color and backed with cotton gauze.

The wrap makes a great gift for newborns, newlyweds, or any surprises that come with chilly spring days — not only for its warmth and looks but also because it represents responsible production and consumption of sustainable materials.

And that’s not just a blanket statement.
