Upholster Your Ideal

Lost City Fabrics

You can get your hands on vividly modern fabrics made using an embroidery technique from the 17th-century Mughal Empire.

It’s true.

Disturbed by working conditions in India, designer Afshan Durrani took her Lost City fabrics collection and the nearly extinct style to Brooklyn.

Where she now employs 125 skilled artisans and master dyers to replicate new designs (wild florals, trippy geometrics) with obscenely precise craftsmanship unseen anywhere else. Really!

Inspired by medieval paintings, contemporary song lyrics, rare documents, architectural details, and Persian poetry, the exquisite yet hardy silks and cottons are sold by the yard, giving new life to blank walls and lackluster furniture everywhere. The textiles speak for themselves.

Without one bit of fabrication.

Available at A.M. Collections, D&D Building, 979 Third Avenue, between 58th and 59th Streets, suite 1700 (212-207-8746 or amcollections.com). To see styles, go to lostcityproducts.com.
