Citizen Schools New York Launch

This is an issue of class.

And you’re fit to be the teacher.

Citizen Schools, an organization that mobilizes grown-up professionals (that’s you) to share their expertise with students, is launching in NYC.

And they need volunteers to create eleven-week apprenticeships with middle schools in East Harlem, Fort Greene, and Cobble Hill.

You’ll lead kids on real-world explorations outside the classroom. You can teach tricks of your trade (public relations, finance, law, design, music production, magic) or master your hobbies (if you’re a dentist but wish you owned a bakery, here’s your chance to start a class on sweets). The possibilities are as diverse as your interests.

At the end of the semester, young protégés showcase final projects, presentations, and performances to families, friends, and the public.

We think it’s a real class act.
