You love your man shaggy or clean shaven, but the stubble stage keeps you out of his reach.

Chafing is put to good use at Williamsburg’s Spa Opilovat, the against-the-grain brainchild of owner and aesthetician August Duben, who uses his own beard as a body scrub (an exfoliation technique he picked up in Prague).

Defined cheekbones and a prominent chin help Duben gently zest away the top layer of epidermis to reveal soft and glowing skin underneath. He trims between clients for hygienic purposes and, due to the time-sensitive nature of regrowth, takes appointments only Mondays and Thursdays (when his 5 o’clock shadow is at its best). At the end of the month, he grows his hair out and gives returning customers a light buffing and oiling.

Though tender and intimate, the young man’s approach is holistic and strictly business. Services start at $125.

So don’t expect any free mustache rides.
