Ant Life Grand?

Rachel Antonoff’s First Collection

When we last read about our heroine, she was traipsing around the West Village with her Mooka Kinney design partner.

But this season, Rachel Antonoff chose her own adventure.

The story unfolds with little form-fitting sundresses (the kind the petite designer wears herself) made with retro prints, polka dots, and lace that illustrates curves.

The plot takes a turn with an update on the ’50s housedress. Honey, we’re home with a calf-length floral halter frock that fits snugly at the waist. Hang the wash out to dry wearing the ankle-grazing, blueberry-print number (it’s got hidden buttons, flat pockets, and a flattering square neckline).

We even peeked at the fall collection inspired by the NYC Ballet (catsuits, leotards, slim trousers).

And it looks anything but by the book.

Available at Shop, 94 Orchard Street, between Delancey and Broome Streets (212-375-0304); Barneys New York Co-Op , 660 Madison Avenue, at 60th Street, 8th floor (212-833-2641). To see styles, go to rachelantonoff.com.
