To the Manor Pourn

The Upholstery Store Wine Bar Opens

Hear ye, hear ye, good citizens of the Westerly Village.

Heralds bring news of a new colony in the Austro-Hunger-ian empire of Kurt Gutenbrunner, sovereign of Blaue Gans, Cafe Sabarsky, and neighboring crown jewel Wallse.

Opening tonight, ’tis a small but charming wine bar bearing the improbable name “The Upholstery Store.” No mean imperialist he, Gutenbrunner just left the original sign above the door.

And no Austrian tyrant either, for the wines served shall be gentle and noble varietals from around the world. More than a dozen by the glass at an average $7; some thirty more by the bottle. Villagers are welcome to perch and take it easy. Hark! Saucisson? Paté? Murray’s cheeses and Amy’s breads? Schnitzel delivered from Wallse? Yea, and do put it on your house account, but not your credit card.

The cozy space was designed and fitted by a young lad from Salzburg in beautiful woods with copper and wool notes.

It’s a bonny gut day indeed.
