Your grown-up fantasies include taking drives to the countryside, scanning yard sales, and filling the house with crazy old knickknacks.
But it’s best to keep the clutter in your head (those used stuffed animals are creepy). Let Maya Marzolf source for you.
While producing shoots for fashion photogs, Marzolf squirreled away inventory for her new (and delightfully rickety) Greenpoint boutique, Le Grenier (“the attic” in French). White walls and birch tree murals set the stage for Industrial and Machine Age collectibles and Victorian antiques. Delicate etched stemware mingles with vanity sets near nautical search lights. Steamer trunks rest in a corner along with a flat file from The Met.
Marzolf will host poetry readings and other events in her sculpture garden. She also does prop rentals.
For whenever you feel like playing pretend.
Le Grenier, 19 Greenpoint Avenue, between West Street and the East River, Greenpoint (718-569-0111 or legrenierny.com).
