Welcome to Women in Need of Extraordinary Sips (WINES). On today’s tomorrow’s agenda: Hell’s Kitchen’s newest watering hole, Ardesia.
(Notes will be recorded on the wine bar’s two-story chalkboard wall.)
Championing the motion:
Madame President Mandy Oser (a.k.a. Director of Strategic Partnerships for Le Bernardin): responsible for intriguing, off-the-beaten-path location within the LEED-certified Archstone Clinton complex, 30-seat patio for seasonal outdoor drinking, and approximately 80 bottles from around the globe.
Secretary of the Department of the Interior Andrea Summerton (ALS Designs): responsible for custom furniture design and woodworking and shares primary decor duties with Maharam (see: velvet-stitch banquettes) and Philippe Starck (mood-setting pendant lights) among other contractors.
Vice President of Deliciousness Amorette Casaus (El Quinto Pino): responsible for house-cured and smoked pastrami, caramelized onions, and apples served on Sullivan St. Bakery bread. Side projects of interest — goat milk ricotta crostini and Indian-summer pickled baby vegetables.
It’s unanimous. Let’s propose a toast.
Ardesia, 510 West 52nd Street, between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues (212-247-9191 or ardesia-ny.com).
