Skip the eye of newt. Drop the rabbit’s foot.
It might be Friday the Thirteenth, but you can still get lucky.
All it takes is a stop by Sugar Lilie Dessous Prives, Stacy Shakoor’s just-opened lingerie shop for the very well laced.
Pile on the charms of lesser-known lines plucked from around the globe, like Holland’s Marlies Dekkers, France’s Lejaby, Germany’s Wundervoll, and England’s Nichole de Carle. Slip into something more comfortable like Los Angeles’s own Haute by Carol Malony and New York’s Lake & Stars. Go back anytime to have the in-house seamstress nip stretched-out straps or help with a refit.
Heady scented candles from local W3 or Seda France’s new L’Argent collection are also on hand. When it comes to expelling bad juju, they should do the trick.
Fingers crossed.
Sugar Lilie Dessous Prives, 8024 West Third Street, between South Crescent Heights Boulevard and South Edinburgh Avenue (323-655-0795).

They are made by Dark Garden of San Francisco. My friend went and said the same thing about the corsets: gorgeous and she even got to try one on. She also said they were really comfy and a good price. They have more styles on the site. http://www.darkgarden.com/
