Penzlien puts you at ease — whether in your own home, another location of your choosing, or her Chinatown studio — and captures you and yours (even pets) in a timeless yet hip, soft-focus way. She uses natural-looking light and candid compositions to ward off awkward poses and cliches.

Resulting shots (think “Girl and Mom Hug in the Kitchen” or “Normal Couple Hanging Out on Their Couch”) run rings around your family classics.
