Thanks to Highland Park’s Necessity Baking Co. breadshare, delivery (on Mondays or Fridays, your pick) for twelve weeks at a time, that ideal becomes real.

Baker Ellen Granda uses European ingredients to craft her oh-so-crusty-outside-chewy-inside boules. The standard Loafer package gets you one of three options per week: the sweet, clover honey-infused Oatie; sourdough Pucker, made from homegrown wild yeast; or Torpedo, a mini baguette.

Broaden your options with Loafer Plus: Dolce Asiago and Farm Parm faux-caccia (a focaccia-ciabatta combo), savory varieties (sun-dried tomato, Parmesan, or kalamata), whole grain, and cinnamon raisin selections. Or indulge in the Holla for Challah package.

Leaving town? Pause it. Prefer pickup? Necessity has numerous neighborhood partners. Want to swap a flavor? Addictive cookies, croissants, and tartlets abound for no extra charge.
