It’s unfortunate that January, with its skanky snow and icy wind, is the time we’re prompted to change poor habits.
Take heart, hermits. Tenoverten, an inviting Tribeca nail salon from Nadine Ferber (of Mick Margo) and Adair Ilyinsky, is finally open to make proper upkeep less of a chore.
The unfussy yet luxurious manicures and pedicures use chic polishes not usually found at salons, including Chanel, Bernhard Willhelm for Uslu Airlines, and RGB (they’re for sale, too). Convenient late hours, online booking, and affordable waxing, eyebrow, and lash services ($10-$65) make schlepping through the cold worthwhile.
While you’re being polished at the communal limestone-topped manicure tables, people-watch out the second-floor arched windows or tool around on the iPad at every station (see, the Us Weekly habit is already kicked).
Book a Wednesday or Saturday when Jimena Garcia (the superlative eyebrow and eyelash specialist) is in house — she’s enough reason to get you out of yours.
