Petiole Launches Silk Wardrobe Staples

Blouses, Rompers, Tunics, and More

petiole silk basics!

A rotation of three work-approved T-shirts is turning super-casual Fridays into “what’s that smell?” Mondays.

Avoid another American Apparel laundry dive with Petiole, an NYC-based line of retooled wardrobe basics made entirely from silk.

Night-to-day blouses, rompers, tunics, and slips are smart enough to wear out of the bedroom (and awesomely remind us of a retro, desert motel). Layer the tanks, tees, and camis for work or pair them with vintage-lingerie-inspired bras and tap shorts with minuscule pleats when hanging in.

Double-washed fabrics, reversed charmeuse (meaning the soft, shiny side is next to your skin), and elastic waistbands that slip to your smallest section make every piece as comfortable as cotton skivvies.

They come in six muted colors (orange, mint, blue, blush, ivory, black), but we doubt that will hamper your plan to wear them seven days a week.

Available at Steven Alan, 103 Franklin Street, between Church Street and West Broadway (212-343-0692 or stevenalan.com); Elizabeth Charles, 639½ Hudson Street, between Horatio and Gansevoort Streets (212-243-3201 or elizabeth-charles.com), $120-$449. To see styles, go to petioleny.com.
