For his first non-Washington location, restaurateur Michael McConnell enlisted Neapolitan master craftsmen to build a wood-fired oven from Mount Vesuvius ash bricks. The beast bakes pies made from kneaded dough, imported Neapolitan tomatoes, local mozzarella, and toppings (provola, prosciutto, basil, mushrooms, salami, artichokes, rapini) in 45 seconds flat.
