Question: How do a bunch of indie kids change a lightbulb?
Answer: It’s too obscure. You wouldn’t get it.

(Hilarious, right? Right?)

Okay, say what you will about the unattainable independent rock scene, but those peeps make some damn fine music (when you can find it).

Case in point: The NYC-based Vivian Girls, an adorably hip trio — Cassie, Katy, and Ali — with tattoos, talent, and a sweet lo-fi/punk/girly sound that inspired a cult following around the world.

Last week, they kindly agreed to play a song for us from their hotly anticipated new album, Everything Goes Wrong (due out September 8). Hopefully you’ll like it as much as we did.

If you even, like, understand it at all.

Hear the Vivian Girls live August 25, 8 p.m., at Death by Audio, 49 South 2nd Street, between Kent and Wythe Avenues, Williamsburg. Tickets available at the door. To preorder their new album, go to amazon.com.
