You know the story: Boy meets girl. Boy woos girl. Boy takes girl back to boy’s apartment, where girl is mortified by the unflushed toilet and mysterious sofa stains.

If you like someone it doesn’t matter (right?). But we still think interior design firm Sexy Bachelor Pad is onto something.

In today’s video, founder Kimberlee Paige Hanson talks about the process from consultation to finished product. She also shows us around her latest Soho project — yes, the owner plays guitar. No, it’s not John Mayer (thank god).

Contrary to the name, Sexy Bachelor Pad is happy to take on projects for bachelorettes.

So boy and girl can both get lucky.

For more information, go to sexybachelorpad.com. The first three people to correctly submit the colors/patterns of the lingerie we placed throughout the video will get a bra from Linda’s Bra Salon.

In reply to: In addition to this business, there is a ... by girlat30m

I think this service is such a fantastic and a much needed concept here in the city! I recently moved from a 2BR house in Australia to an Alcove studio in Manhattan. Translation: quite the change in space and style. A friend recommended that I contact the stylist from soho548, her name is Sharon, and see what her thoughts were. As a woman - with a reasonable sense of home style - I wasn't sure that I really needed the help of that kind of business. After all - I'm not a bachelor nor a recent college grad. All I can say is - Sharon is amazing and has already made the difference in my transition here to NYC. Before Sharon started working with my space - it was 'fine', but it didn't feel like 'home'. I had all sorts of items, which I thought were important enough to literally ship from the other side of the world, yet I didn't have the basics like a table - or even a coffee table. I was so tired of shopping and only finding pieces that were either generic or completely over priced. Not to mention having no idea of what to do with the boxes - and boxes - of books that practically took up an entire room in my old house. Enter Sharon. In less than a week, my space truly became 'home'. Sharon is very insightful and has a clear vision, which helped her to get an immediate sense of who I am so that she could refine my space to best reflect my personality. For instance, I had commented that I really liked a prop that she had designed as a splash back for a commercial - using gorgeous tiles that happened to be in my favorite color. Before I knew it - she was describing to me her vision of creating a dining table that would incorporate the 'splash back' style tiles, and designing the legs around other traits of furniture that I had complimented. Within minutes she was deep in conversation with a furniture builder, using ideas inspired by the French seaside, giving him detailed specifications of her concept for my table. Less than a week later, they delivered a custom made, one of a kind, gorgeous table that was exactly my taste, and cost a mere fraction of what I would have paid for a 'mass produced' piece from one of the trendy furniture stores. She continued to work this magic through out my apartment. The transformation of my space was so impressive that even the Super of my building made a point of complementing it. In addition to Sharon's phenomenal talent and extreme professionalism, she is incredibly down to earth and very easy to work with. I strongly recommend her business to anyone who wants their space to exude that unmistakably comforting feeling of coming home.

In addition to this business, there is another one just like it, run by a very accomplished stylist in NYC who has over 20 years in the styling business and a portfolio to die for. She started a budget-friendly, but super chic and contemporary apartment styling for bachelors, newly graduated college students, and anyone else who needs an update. She might be worth checking into as well. I know first hand because she is my sister, although I am not biased about her talent. Her website: www.soho548.com. Just look at the website and you'll know what I mean!
