We’re wearing summer 2010 but looking at spring 2011. And by that we mean the New York fashion shows are about to start.
Since we’re big fans of small designers, this year we’re making them our focus. So we picked nine of our favorites, from newcomers to seasoned CFDA winners, and followed them for months as they put together their collections. We peered inside their homes and work spaces, pestered them with questions and generally found out what makes them tick. We’ll even be selling select pieces from a few of their F/W 2010 collections in a special pop-up shop on Swirl launching September 8.
In today’s stop-motion video we introduce eight of the nine: Tom Scott, Whitney Pozgay, Samantha Pleet, Eviana Hartman, Ann Yee, Albertus Swanepoel, LaQuan Smith, and Chris Benz. (Dana Lorenz’s busy schedule kept her out of the picture.)
We’re all about the next big thing. And we think these guys will be huge.
