The Gold Card
Tiger & Jones, Couture Greeting Cards

Usually when you care enough to send the very best, you send a mainstream, mass-market greeting card. (Your mother, meanwhile, in all her infinite newfound Web wisdom, sends you a goofy e-card.)
Which really is rather silly. Why go with the obvious choice when there’s an outrageously pricey couture option available?
Tiger & Jones, a Brooklyn-based card company, handcrafts top-of-the-line greetings and stationery using fancy combinations of eighteen-karat-gold plates (engraved with phrases or personalized initials), textured paper, thread, and letterpress printing. Styles range from everyday to celebrations to correspondence notes. These are cards to get if you want to stand out, assuming you’re willing to shell out $20 a pop. (So where’s the money leftover for the gift?)
The good material doesn’t stop with the design. Card text includes scorchers like “I got this uncontrollable desire to take you … consume you between the sheets.”
With greetings like that, you’d better care. A lot. And for a very, very long time.
