Nola Singer Jewelry

Stylists know how to dress up anything.
Ripped jeans. White knee socks. Britney Spears.
Former stylist Nola Singer takes a similar approach to her new line of necklaces. Unlike the kabillions of jewelers doing the colorful hippie-beads-on-a-string thing right now, Singer dresses up her pieces with antique buttons, shoe clips, brooches, and earrings culled from flea markets and estate sales around the world.
The result? Asymmetrical strands in fours. Triple chains with floating pearls and semiprecious stones. Elegant chokers. Singer combines gold and silver with pearls and gems (blue topaz, amethyst, garnet, and aquamarine), and vintage treasures from Chanel, Dior, and Givenchy.
Wear one with a fancy frock or a casual tank. The necklaces lend a sophisticated note to every plunging neckline.
Which is more than we can say for white knee socks.
Available at Foley and Corinna, 114 Stanton Street, between Ludlow and Essex Streets (212-529-2338). To see styles, go to jewelrybynola.com.
