The Boy Next Door
Robert G Hair Salon

This is a true story. Resemblance to actual persons, events, or locations is not coincidental.
A certain young lady, in dire need of a hair rescue and eagerly anticipating a rendezvous with her Swedish locks maestro, found herself sitting on a stoop, stood up by said stylist.
She wandered the streets, hoping beyond hope that the cutter would call and save her from distress. Alas, her phone remained silent.
Her wanderings brought her to Commerce Street, where she discovered a new, bright, airy hair salon. An unexplainable force beckoned her inside.
Turns out, the man doing all the trimming was none other than the legendary Robert Gioria of Robert Kree on Bleecker. (He’s pruned SJP and Mariah, but who cares?) Now Gioria’s gotten back into business.
Along with his team of styling superstars, he transformed the no-appointment lady into a modern-day Twiggy. (In under a half hour.) As the hair dryer whirred, she was offered a box of oven-fresh treats from the bakery next door.
Sweet delivery. At last.
Robert G Salon, 23 Commerce Street, at Seventh Avenue South (212-488-3200).
