East Village Yacht Club Opens

1400 hours: Swab decks for evening sail. Storm front coming. Delay plans.
1500: Southeasterly winds send us to East Village Yacht Club, the new maritime hangout in the old Chez Es Sada spot.
1700: Order prosecco and oysters. Watch sunset on the flat screen.
1800 hours: Crew is restless. Move downstairs to Commodore’s dining room for caviar pie and catch of the day. Someone orders a Dark & Stormy — a premonition?
2100: What do you do with a drunken sailor? Cocktail sauce blemishes Navy whites. Nosh on pigs in a blanket and admire seafaring trinkets.
2200: Meet proprietor Andy King, who offers membership perks like access to his personal schooner and private reservation line. How about first dibs at backgammon?
2400: Hipsters off-port bow. Local-yocals wax poetic about resident DJ, Moni (quite the sea nymph). Nonironic, Dockers-wearing yipsters make merry with swearing sailors from Bushwick.
100: Order another round. They don’t call them sea legs for nothing.
East Village Yacht Club, 42 East 1st Street, between First and Second Avenues (212-777-5617).
