We’ll Take That to Go

The Market at Borough Food & Drink

pack a lunch!

Three travelers leave the center of NYC at the same speed. One gets stranded on JFK’s runway, another gets lost in Port Authority’s bowels, and the third jockeys for a seat on the LIRR.

In one synchronized instant, they realize not only that they are starving, but also moving in the opposite direction of the best grub in the country.

If they’d just had the foresight (ack, hunger pains are blinding) to pack staples from Borough Food & Drink. The new restaurant and market, opening tomorrow in the old Caviar & Banana space (hex broken!), prepares and stocks the finest NYC foodstuffs (as selected by chef Zac Pelaccio and co.).

Our dream snack shopping list:
- fried BoBo Farms chicken with a mac and cheese pancake
- Schmaltz fried pickles with spicy aioli
- wild arugula “Greek” salad
- cheese spread (Black Bull Meat Market, Astoria)
- whitefish salad (Russ & Daughters, Manhattan)
- weisswurst and bratwurst (Forest Pork, Queens)
- biscotti (De Lillo Bakery, The Bronx)

Don’t you worry about calculating the distance.

Borough Food & Drink, 12 East 22nd Street, between Broadway and Park Avenue (212-260-0103).
